As an industry leader, Nevada Learning Series ensures that we give back to those less fortunate. Nevada donates a fixed percentage of its profits to charitable organizations. Our greatest privilege is sharing our success with the community that has supported us over the years.

Nevada Learning Series extends the philosophy of 'giving back' to supporting projects in Africa.

Nevada is committed to providing financial support to the people of Longido District, in Northern Tanzania, contributing to projects that will improve the lives of the most vulnerable members of the predominantly-Maasai community living in that area. Support will be channeled through a registered Canadian charity -- Sauti Moja (One Voice).

The needs of the Maasai people were brought to Nevada's attention by a former member of the sales team, following her 6 month visit to that area, working as a self-funded volunteer with a community based organization in Longido.

In response, Nevada is expanding its current corporate giving programs to include targeted support to this region.  Effective November 1, 2007, one cent from the sale of each quick reference guide will be donated on a quarterly basis to Sauti Moja. All funds received will be used in support of  Longido-area projects which currently include:

a) LECHE (Longido Early Childhood Education Program) which is establishing preschool classes for rural Maasai children with a view to ensuring greater academic success as they enter the public school system;

b) The Child-Mothers Program which will provide counseling, short-term emergency housing, and family mediation for unwed pregnant Maasai girls, with an aim to ensuring continuing opportunities for education as well as healthier pregnancies and deliveries;

c) Community Conversations Program, which works with local facilitators to provide HIV/AIDS education and develop community-based strategies for prevention, care and treatment.

Nevada Learning Series Proud of its Green Team

Nevada is continually looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint. This is the rationale behind the creation of Nevada’s Green Team. Nevada’s Green Team is comprised of a group of dedicated Nevada employees who continually search for new ways to reduce. Whether this means the promotion of recycling both inside the company and out, or if they are promoting the use of environmentally products to our suppliers, they have made a significant impact already.

American Forests - Investing in our environment

American Forests is one of the leading conservation groups in North America. Thanks to American Forests' ongoing planting project, Global ReLeaf, 20 million new trees will be spreading their roots into the next millennium. Through Global ReLeaf, Nevada is sponsoring the replacement of every tree used in our guides and promotional material, and will replant at least one tree for each one we use in the future. Visit the American Forests Web site to learn more about Global ReLeaf, or to sponsor a tree of your own!
