Nevada’s History
The story of Nevada Learning Series began with a corporate computer instructor coming to the realization that most software training materials are not designed to meet the needs of the average corporate computer user. Most training guides focus on the software, not what the end-user can do with the software. We call this the Software-First Trap. Furthermore, the training guides on the market were lengthy and cumbersome. At Nevada, we’re aware of the increasing pressure on employees to maximize their time; they lack the time to read full business software books. As a result, Nevada developed its award winning tri-fold quick reference guide.
With the development of the product came a thorough review process that continues to improve the quality of the content and overall product usability. Our first guide, Microsoft Word 6, was launched in 1995. Since then, Nevada Learning Series has grown from a 5 person shop to a multi-million dollar global company that has produced over 400 products in 23 different languages. To date, Nevada Learning Series has sold more than 25 million guides.
Nevada’s philosophy - that complex technology can be explained in simple language - still holds true for the Nevada team today.
